Smart Announces “Mag-SIM Reg para hindi SIM Dead” Campaign

Smart ramps up its call for customers to register their SIMs with “Mag-SIM Reg para hindi SIM Dead” campaign.

As the April 26 deadline for SIM Registration draws near, Smart urges its subscribers to register in order to prevent text scams and mobile phone-aided criminal activities. The “Mag-SIM Reg para hindi SIM Dead” campaign reminds customers to register their SIM cards to prevent a so-called SIM dead situation. You can watch Smart’s public service announcement below.

Avoid SIM-dead hassles

SIM dead or a deactivated SIM means no outgoing and incoming calls, no sending and receiving messages, no internet access, and forfeited load balances. You also won’t be able to receive one-time passwords (OTPs) for your banking apps or mobile wallets. This means you won’t be able to access or use your savings and wallet credits.

SIM dead also means you won’t be able to access all the apps linked to your mobile number. This includes your social media apps, messaging apps, and delivery apps. You won’t even recover a forgotten password linked to your mobile number.

“Our smartphone has become an extension of ourselves, and failing to register our SIM will cut us off from the many technological conveniences that enable us to live more today. This is why we encourage all our customers to register their Smart and TNT SIMs ahead of the April 26 deadline.”

Francis E. Flores, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business – Individual at Smart

Register your Smart and TNT SIMs now

To make the process more convenient and accessible, Smart has rolled out assisted SIM Registration booths at malls nationwide, far-flung municipalities, and key remote areas. This is in coordination with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the local government units (LGUs), the inter-agency committee in remote areas, and other public telecommunications entities.

If you are a Smart Prepaid or TNT customer, you can register your SIM card into the GigaLife App or on the link below.

If you are a Smart Postpaid customer, you simply need to confirm the personal information and IDs you previously submitted for your postpaid plan application by texting YES to 5858, and wait for the confirmation message from Smart.

On the other hand, if you’re a Smart Bro subscriber, you can proceed with SIM Registration by accessing your one-time password following the steps on the link below.
