Mitsubishi PH has brought the Go Beyond Limits Tour here in Davao City to let Davaoeños experience the new Mitsubishi Triton.
The Go Beyond Limits tour is held at SM Lanang Premier from March 8 to 10, 2024. Coinciding with the Araw ng Dabaw celebrations, the 3-day event features some of Mitsubishi Motors’ newest models, including the all-new Mitsubishi Triton. Aside from showcasing these vehicles, visitors can also get a chance to test drive them.
Introducing the To-of-the-Line Mitsubishi Triton Athlete
Also showcased is the top-of-the line Mitsubishi Triton Athlete. It features a 2-stage turbo, as well as a slew of safety features. It is also the only variant to feature the special Yamabuki Orange paint color, as well as leather trimmings in the seats.
The Athlete is scheduled to be available in the market this April 2024. So I was told that the model in display was the final prototype. We were not able to test drive the prototype as well, but you were able to experience it as a passenger.
Test Driving the Mitsubishi Triton
First off, the Triton looks tall (as all pickups should). It is also noticeably longer than most pickups. This also means it has a larger wheelbase and, in turn, a bigger turning radius. But even with a big turning radius, it can make a full U-turn just fine in the parking lot.
Suspension were amazing, it didn’t feel as bumpy as it should on the obstacle course. We also got to experience how its traction control works in one of the obstacles. This gave me feel secure to drive this vehicle in the slippery rain. I didn’t get a chance to drive over the last obstacle (which was an uphill course) though since it was already raining, and the metal can be very slippery. But I did get the chance to experience it as a passenger on the Athlete.
You can check out a clip of my test drive experience below.
You can still catch the Go Beyond Limits Tour and test drive the all-new Mitsubishi Triton until March 10, 2024. Visit the showcase at the atrium of SM Lanang Premier. Test driving area will be at parking lot D. You need to first register, show your driver’s license, and sign a waiver. Test drives are only entertained from 1PM to 5PM though.
