Lenovo, EA, and Respawn Entertainment announced that Legion will be the Exclusive PC and Monitor for the Apex Legends Global Series.
Apex Legends Global Series is the official esports program for Apex Legends, the free-to-play battle royale game from Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment. The program is based on the multiple experience for The Game Awards’ “Multiplayer Game of 2019”. Legion, Lenovo’s gaming line, will provide 200 high-performance desktops and monitors for all Apex Legends Global Series Majors.
One way to qualify for the Majors is to compete in online tournaments. The online elite subsequently advance to local Challenger events or regional Premier events. The best players in the world will then advance to play in the Majors, and ultimately the Championship.
The desktop that will be provided to the esports program is the Lenovo Legion T730. It is equipped with up to a 9th Gen Intel Core i7 9700K and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, all optimally cooled via Lenovo Coldfront 2.0 with liquid cooling. The towers will be paired with the Lenovo Legion Y25 monitor with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Lenovo will also be providing laptops for the caster’s desks to spectate and commentate on the live performance. The exclusive partnership will kick off at the first Global Series Major on March 13-15, 2020 in Arlington, Texas.
