Razer Deathstalker V2 Introduced w Low-Profile Optical Switches

Razer just announced the Deathstalker V2, Deathstalker V2 Pro, and Deathstalker V2 Pro Tenkeyless, with Razer Low-Profile Optical Switches.

The new Deathstalker V2 line has a clean, low-profile design language. It is ideal for gamers looking for a clutter-free desktop setup. Though having a low-profile design, it boasts high-profile performance. It also come in both linear and clicky variants of the Razer Low-Profile Optical Switches across the range. In addition, it also feature a slim-line aluminum top plate for superb durability, and laser-etched keycaps with an ultra-durable coating for even greater longevity.

“The original DeathStalker became a fan favorite due to its innovative chiclet style design and next-level typing feel within a sleek low-profile form factor. With the new DeathStalker V2 range, we’ve kept the low-profile aesthetic of the original keyboard, but included our latest technology innovations, such as Razer Optical Switches and Razer HyperSpeed Wireless, to give gamers a fast, feature-packed gaming keyboard experience.”

Said Chris Mitchell, Head of the PC Gaming Division at Razer.

Featured in every member of the new line of keyboards is the new Razer Low-Profile Optical Switches. It brings lightspeed switch actuation to low-profile keyboards. It uses an infrared beam of light to register keypress. This means that there’s zero debounce delay on each key press, which gives faster, more responsive feel.

The low-profile switches are available in Linear and Clicky. The Linear switches has an actuation point of just 1.2mm with 2.8mm of total travel and an actuation force of just 45g. On the other hand, the Clicky switches’ actuation point is 1.5mm with tactile feedback at the same point, and a full travel of 2.8mm from 50g of actuation force.

These switches has been tested to an industry-leading 70 million presses. It outperforms its competitor switches by as much as 40%. With their slim design, it allows the keys to sit lower on the keyboard baseplate. As a result, gamers will experience minimal wrist fatigue even when used for long hours without a wrist rest.

To top it off, it comes with laser-etched keycaps with an ultra-durable coating. This makes the keycaps outlast even the likes of doubleshot PBT. Its durability is further enhanced with a 5052 aluminum allow top-plate.

This enables the keyboard to deliver fast, stable, and reliable wireless connection that’s on par with traditional wired connections. Multi-device pairing also lets gamers connect both the V2 Pro and a compatible mouse to just use one single HyperSpeed Wireless dongle.

In addition, both the V2 Pro and V2 Pro Tenkeyless also feature Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. This gives users the flexibility to connect up to 3 devices at once. Lastly, the V2 Pro feature a battery life of 40 hours of continuous usage. Meanwhile, the V2 Pro Tenkeyless has a battery life of 50 hours of continuous usage. Both are supplied with a detachable USB Type-C cable for wired connection or charging.
