How the vivo X300 Ultra Shapes the Future of Mobile Filmmaking

The new vivo X300 Ultra is equipped with advanced recording, color management, and audio features that’s designed for content creators.

Short-form video, vlogging, and mobile filmmaking continues to grow in the Philippines. Which is why smartphone manufacturers are placing greater emphasis on professional-grade video capabilities.

vivo Philippines has recently highlighted the vivo X300 Ultra’s video performance in a TikTok video. It demonstrated its ability to capture footage in 4K at 120 frames per second (fps) using 10-bit Log recording. The showcase focused on preserving detail in fast-moving scenes and challenging lighting conditions, underscoring a broader shift toward professional video production on mobile devices.

At the center of the vivo X300 Ultra’s video system is support for Multi-Focal 4K 120fps 10-Bit Log Video across all rear cameras. The format provides increased color depth and dynamic range compared with standard video recording modes, giving creators greater flexibility during post-production and color grading.

The device features a new Pro Video Mode with controls resembling those of professional cinema cameras. Users can utilize custom 3D LUTs for real-time preview when recording Log footage, helping visualize color treatments pre-editing. It also supports the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES), a standardized color management workflow prevalent in the film and television industry.

Audio recording technology in the vivo X300 Ultra includes Quad-Mic Audio Recording Master, with presets for various scenarios. This system focuses on target sound sources and minimizes background noise, enhancing audio quality for interviews and outdoor recordings.

For monitoring footage, the smartphone is equipped with a 6.82-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color Display with a resolution of 1440 x 3168 and a pixel density of 510 pixels per inch. The display supports Dolby Vision, Ultra XDR, and vivo’s ecosystem-level color management system, which aims to maintain color consistency from capture through playback.

The device is also engineered to support extended recording sessions. A 5,800-square-millimeter liquid cooling vapor chamber helps manage heat during demanding tasks, including prolonged 4K 120fps video capture.

The introduction of these features reflects a growing trend in mobile imaging, where smartphones are increasingly being used for content creation, independent filmmaking and professional production workflows.

As creators continue to seek more capable tools in compact form factors, the vivo X300 Ultra demonstrates how smartphone video technology is evolving beyond convenience and toward professional-grade production capabilities.
