Gigabyte just had a PC modding 101 workshop in Davao City called the Mod On x OC event with local modder Jesse Tiongson, here’s what went on.
Cebu local modder Jesse “JP Modified” Palacio headed the first Mod On event in Cebu. Then Gigabyte recently held one here in Davao City with our very own Jesse “Popoy” Tiongson.
The Mod On x OC was an invite only event, and we were invited to attend along with other media partners, and members of the local PC community.
The event kicked off with Popoy explaining the different tools he uses for modding. Then proceeded to the proper usage of said tools. He also demonstrated some modding techniques and let some of the attendees try it as well. Some of Popoy’s works were also on display during the event and Gigabyte also featured their new Z370 motherboards and its capabilities.
Of course, the Mod On x OC wouldn’t be complete without an overclocking 101 workshop, which were taught and demonstrated by Gigabyte’s very own Peter Amadeus Lo. He explained what overclocking is, how to do it properly, and the risks of doing it.
And to cap off the night, a raffle was held. Sponsored by non-other than Gigabyte and Thermaltake of course.
It is refreshing to see events like this happen to further encourage more people to join; not just the modding scene, but the PC community entirely. It would be exciting for such an event would happen again but on a larger scale with more attendees.
