Vivo is one of the popular smartphone brands in the country. And with its partnership with Qualcomm, it solidified its position as one of the top brands.
Just last September, Vivo launched their latest flagship phone, the revolutionary V7+. Known as the selfie-centric phone with its 24MP front-facing camera, it instantly became a hit among young consumers, further raising the popularity of the brand.
What does the partnership between Vivo and Qualcomm entail?
The smartphone brand just signed a memorandum of understanding with Qualcomm worth 4 billion US dollars last November 9, 2017. The memorandum will strengthen Vivo and Qualcomm’s technical partnership and patent sharing. With Qualcomm’s optimized platforms, Vivo aims to stay faithful to its commitment of delivering innovative and technologies that are at the forefront in mobile photography, gaming, smart power saving, and many more. Both companies are also working on research and development in biometrics space with the introduction of their Under Display fingerprint scanning solution. They are also working on other technologies such as 3D facial identification, palm prints, fingerprints, iris scanning, and other biometric technologies to improve the ease-of-use and security of mobile phones.
Vivo has always been a major competitor in the market. And in order to be on top, the smartphone brand will also be expanding in the global market. They will introduce their products to Taiwan, Singapore, and Russia, as their first foray into the European market, followed by a push into the African market in early 2018.
