Sony just launched the G Master FE 35mm F1.4 GM, the newest addition to its highly acclaimed G Master full-frame lens series.
The FE 35mm F1.4 GM is a must have for Sony’s E-mount users. Its combination with Sony’s camera bodies boasts advanced focusing capabilities. It is perfect for a wide range of uses such as shooting landscapes, portraits, and street photography, both stills and video.

Superlative Resolution in a Compact Lens
The new lens boasts advanced optical technology that delivers stunning contrast and superb resolution. Two XA (Extreme Aspherical) elements effectively maintain superb resolution throughout the image area. It is not only mobile and manageable; it also performs admirably in difficult lighting. An ED glass element and other optical refinements suppress chromatic aberration and purple ringing for breathtaking results.
Beautiful Bokeh for Broad Expressive Capability
Thanks to its two XA elements, it allows for an impossibly impressive close-up with smooth, creamy background bokeh. It’s F1.4 maximum aperture combined with the flexibility to choose the perfect shooting distance allows for ultimate control and stunning bokeh when shooting both stills and video.
Advanced Focus for Enhanced Imagery
For precise AF (autofocus) and tracking, two of Sony’s XD (Extreme Dynamic) Linear Motors provide the high thrust efficiency needed. And developed specifically for the XD Linear Motors, state-of-the-art control algorithms improve control response and precision whilst minimizing vibration and noise for fast, smooth, and silent AF performance. The advanced focusing can also be achieved when shooting at high frame rates.
Professional Control and Reliability
The new G Master lens offers full professional control, with a focus hold button, focus mode switch to support smooth, efficient operation. An aperture ring with switchable click stops can be turned off for movie shooting. When used on an APS-C camera or with a Super 35 angle of view, it can be used as a standard lens equivalent to 52.5mm. This makes the lens a perfect choice for creating videos.
It’s focus hold button can be assigned to several other functions via a camera body menu. This provides direct access to functions that are vital to photographers and videographers alike. Lastly, it has a dust and moisture resistant design and a fluorine front element coating that repels water, oil, and other contaminants.
