ROG Strix 14th Gen Intel Laptops are Now Available

ASUS Republic of Gamers just announced the availability of ROG Strix 14th Gen Intel laptops including the new SCAR with mini-LED display.

The new ROG Strix 14th Gen Intel laptops includes the Strix SCAR 18. It’s the first 18-inch ROG laptop equipped with the mini-LED ROG Nebula HDR Display. All the new Strix machines will feature the latest flagship Intel Core i9 processor 14900HX, with the new SCAR sporting up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. They are also paired with the latest intelligent cooling improvements. This include the Tri-Fan technology, and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU.

Brilliant Detail

The Strix SCAR’s Nebula HDR Display boasts over 2000 discrete dimming zones and 1100 nits of peak brightness. On an 18-inch panel, this dimming zone density, coupled with the ROG Nebula HDR Engine, minimizes blooming and haloing.

While the Nebula HDR panels are exclusive to the Strix SCAR line are truly spectacular, all the displays in the 2024 Strix line are visually stunning. Each model features a 2.5K panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time. The panels also have an extra-tall 16:10 aspect ratio and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Dolby Vision support also ensures that the color content on the screen will look exactly as the creator intended. Meanwhile, Dolby Atmos support further increases immersion with expansive and realistic soundstages.

In addition, the chassis design of the new Strix series receives a facelift. They now sports a reimagined yet classic ROG cyberpunk design elements. There are bold ROG accents across the sides and rear, and boasts exceptional build quality.

Flagship Performance

For excellent performance, the new laptops are powered by the Intel Core i9 processor 14900HX. It’s a flagship 24-core, 32-thread CPU equipped to handle heavy rendering projects, as well as AAA games. The laptops also support up to 32GB of DDR5 memory and up to 2TB PCIe Gen4 x4 storage. The Strix SCAR 16 packs an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 laptop GPU. Meanwhile, the Strix 18 offers up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. Lastly, the Strix G16 comes with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, while the Strix G18 an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070.

Cooler than Cool

The ROG Strix 14th Gen Intel laptops also feature cutting edge cooling technologies. This includes Tri-Fan technology, a system that utilize a third auxiliary fan. This increases airflow to surface-mounted components on the motherboard. It also help route excess hear from the GPU towards the heatsinks. The entire lineup also features ultra-high performance Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal. It drastically reduces temperatures compared to traditional thermal pastes.
