OPPO at MWC Shanghai – Flash Charging the Future

Smart device company, OPPO, along with their partners, came together at MWC Shanghai to discuss the future of flash charge technology.

Leading partners that were present at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai included consumer electronics and chip manufacturing, as well as experts in charging technology from CTTL (China Telecommunication Technology Labs).

Flash Charge

A number of examples of cutting-edge charging products were also featured on OPPO’s stand. This included the 125W flash charger, which can charge a 4,000 mAh phone battery to 100% in just 20 minutes. 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge products were also featured, which charges the same battery in as little as 30 minutes. Products from several partners who have a licensed OPPO proprietary technologies were also present.

Smart Home of the Future

OPPO 5G CPE Omni

This zone in OPPO’s MWC Shanghai booth, shows how the tech brand’s IoT products make our homes smarter and more connected. Among the products is the unique 5G CPE, Omni, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF System. It sits as the heart of the whole area, capable of turning 5G signals into stable, high speed Wi-Fi connections through two proprietary antenna systems.

The O-Reserve 5G antenna system uses the Sub-6GHz 5G spectrum which automatically chooses 4 of its 8 antennae at a time to get the best possible signal. And at the same time, the O-Motion 360° technology can fully rotate its antennae. This ensures the CPE is positioned for optimum 5G millimeter wave signal reception. OPPO and its partners, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Ericsson had already completed successful tests of the 5G millimeter wave technology with the Omni. It achieved downlink speeds of 4.06Gbps.

OPPO IoT Connectivity

“At OPPO, we firmly believe that 5G will change how we all live. As coverage and capacity expand, we’ll see new applications flourishing in numerous areas, bringing unexpected experiences to consumers. We’re already involved in the development of a global 5G standard, and will continue to explore new 5G devices and deployments, from TV to CPE to AR,”

said Henry Tang, Vice President of OPPO Research Institute.

Futuristic Technologies

OPPO X 2021 Wireless Air Charging

The tech brand also had a Futuristic Technologies area where it lets guests get up close with the OPPO X 2021. It is a concept phone which features a screen that unrolls from 6.7 to 7.4 inches. OPPO’s new Wireless Air Charging technology is also featured on the concept phone. It can deliver up to 7.5W of charging power. This latest innovation uses magnetic resonance to remove some of the inconvenience of other wireless charging technologies. It starts working as soon as devices are within 10cm of the charging mat.
