ASUS took the Mobile World Congress’ stage at Barcelona, Spain to introduce their new line of Intelligent Phones, the latest Zenfone 5 series.
From Mobile phones, to Feature Phones, to Smartphones, and now Intelligent Phones (as ASUS has dubbed), phones with the newest Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The Taiwanese company unveiled 3 phones during MWC 2018; the Zenfone 5, 5z, and 5 Lite.
Zenfone 5
Not to be confused with previous Zenfone 5, this new generation of Zenfone features an exquisitely crafted design. It is equipped with a dual-camera system. And has an AI Scene Detection, AI Photo Learning, Real-Time Portrait, and Real-Time Beautification. It is also equipped with a large screen with very thin bezels but has a notch on top much like the fruit phone, only smaller.

The 5z is the Zen 5’s big brother. Equipped with higher specs and has all the bells and whistles as the 5 plus more. Both the 5 and 5z are available in Meteor Silver, and Midnight Blue.

The Zenfone 5 Lite will be locally called the Zenfone 5q here in the Philippines. It is equipped with a quad-camera system; 2 rear facing cameras, and 2 front facing cameras. The device features a high-resolution camera and a wide-angle camera for both front and the rear.It has a stylish design, sporting a ultraslim bezel screen. The 5 Lite is available in Midnight Black, Rouge Red, Moonlight White.

The new generation of Zenfones is said to be available in the Philippines within the second quarter of the year. The Zenfone 5z is said to retail at EUR 479 (approximately PHP 30,648), no pricing details yet for the Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5 Lite (Zenfone 5q).
