HMD Global, the home of Nokia Phones, had just recently launched the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus here in the Philippines.
The intimate launch was held in the City of Smiles, Bacolod. We were lucky enough to get invited to the said event and get to be one of the firsts in the Philippines to try out the new phones.
Nokia 6.1 Plus
The 6.1 Plus is probably my favorite out of the two phones. It has an all-screen design with a dual rear camera configuration in a small body. The 5.8-inch screen looks bigger even with the small body of the phone, but it has a notch (as with most new phones these days), and a bit of a chin. The over all body design feels premium with its glass front and back, and beautiful curved sides.
With its 16MP + 5MP dual-camera configuration takes great vivid pictures, especially the Bokeh Mode. PlusThe bokeh on this thing quite good, you can even adjust the focus and blur quality after the shot has been taken. It also has a 16MP front-facing camera which takes sharp selfies. The 6.1 Plus is truly a great mid-range phone.

Nokia 5.1
The 5.1 Plus is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P60, usually seen on higher-tiered smartphones. The smartphone is said to be designed for mobile gaming, but we haven’t tested it fully enough on games yet. Hopefully, Nokia Mobile would let us review it soon.
The 5.1 Plus almost looks the same as the 6.1 Plus except for the bigger notch. The screen quality is also a bit less than the 6.1 Plus despite having the same screen size. The device also has a 13MP + 5MP dual rear-facing camera, and a 8MP front-facing camera.

Both phones are powered by Android One, so you know you get first dibs on software updates. It runs on Android Oreo out of the box but will be getting the Android Pie update very soon. Also, with HMD Global’s partnership with Home Credit, the devices will be available at 0% interest over 6 months.
