iPhone 7 and 7 Plus Launched, Here’s All You Need to Know

Earlier, Apple just launched the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus during their event in San Francisco. Here’s everything you need to know about them.

Design and Durability

The iPhone 7 comes in with a 4.7-inch display, and a 5.5-inch one for the iPhone 7 Plus.

Rumors about it not having headphone jacks anymore are true. The new iPhones will be using its Lightning slot instead. The earbuds included already has a Lightning connection. If, however, you’d still want to use your analog headphones, they have included a Lightning converter.

The noticeable feature between the 7 and 7 Plus is the rear camera. The iPhone 7 Plus features rear dual-cameras, much like the Huawei P9 and LG G5. The left camera uses the usual wide-angle lens, while the right camera uses a telephoto lens that is able to capture stunning zoom shots.

There are also some new color variants in addition to Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold. You can also opt for Black and Jet Black. Black replaces the famous matte Space Grey and Jet Black is a sexy pristine, mirror-like high-gloss finish.

Finally, a water-resistant iPhone. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus has an IP67 rating, which means it can be taken 1 meter underwater for about 30 minutes.

Performance

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be running iOS 10, which has been in beta for the past months.

Both phones will also be having the A10 Fusion chip under its hood, Apple’s most powerful processor ever. It is a 64-bit quad-core processor that is said to be 40% faster than the A9 which the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus have. It also improves the phone’s graphics, said to be 50% faster than the A9.

They will also be axing the 16GB variant. Instead, you can choose between a much larger 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB variants. For the Jet Black color variant, you can only choose between 128GB and 256GB. They will also be upgrading the storage capacities for the iPhone SE, 6S, and 6S Plus.

The new iPhones also utilizes stereo speakers located at the top and bottom of the phone. Apple also claims that they feature “increased dynamic range”.

The iconic home button no longer clicks. It is replaced by the Force Touch home button, a version of the pressure-sensitive and TouchID sensor.

Battery life is also improved on the 7 and 7 Plus. Apple claims that the new iPhone 7 will last 2 hours more than the iPhone 6S, and the iPhone 7 Plus will last an hour longer than the iPhone 6S Plus.
