NCCC Mall Buhangin to Open First Dolby Atmos Theater in Davao City

The newly opened NCCC Mall Buhangin recently gave us first dibs to experience their new Dolby Atmos Theater, which will soon open to the public.

Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology developed by Dolby Laboratories. Atmos, meaning Atmosphere. The sound surrounds 360° around the viewers rather than in a flat plane in a traditional surround sound. Basically, you can hear and even pinpoint the exact direction of the sound in the surrounding atmosphere. This results in a more natural and lifelike cinema experience.

Currently, there are no Dolby Atmos theaters in Davao City. NCCC Cinemas will be bringing the technology on the newly opened NCCC Mall Buhangin. There will be 4 cinemas in total in the mall, 2 of which will be equipped with Dolby Atmos technology, 1 of the 2 is said to be a 3D cinema. All 4 cinemas will have a 172-seating capacity each, with 6 sure seats for PWDs (each cinema).

NCCC Cinemas have always been upping their cinema tech game (Check out their Cinema Projection Exhibit a few years ago). And this will be the first Dolby Atmos Theater in Davao City. The Cinemas is planned to open to the public on October 10, 2018. They will also be expanding their services thru their own website. This will enable online bookings and payments for movie goers. You can soon sign up at cinemas.nccc.com.ph.
